Wow, I grew up with video games -- literally. My brother is about 9 years older than me so I don't remember a time without video games. And same here, Super Mario was one of the first games I remember playing :). Good stuff.

80GB for me.. jebus, you people have a lot of space LOL.

Cosmic Fantasy 2 for turbo graphix.. first rpg game I played and I thought Laura was so pretty -- now I want to play it again lol. Ys Book I and II for turbo graphix as well, they don't make games like these anymore.. The storylines for both these games were very memorable. And at the time, the graphics were superb! And Cosmic Fantasy was the first game I played that had _animated scenes_! LOL, damn we've come a long way.

I've played Legendary Axe II :P PC-engine/Turbo Graphics 16 games rule. There's a girly game ( not many of those around, unfortunately :/ ) I've never heard anyone speak of: Princess Crown. It's an RPG type I played on Sega Saturn :O. Unique playing style, too bad it was in Japanese.. I didn't know what the heck they were saying hehe.

And I love the old point and click games! like Sam & Max and Indiana Jones and the like. My favorites were Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist and Space Quest 6. Too bad they don't make funny puzzle-solving games like those anymore :(. Hell, they hardly ever make funny games anymore.

That's easy -- Everquest O_O. Played it since November 2001.. and quit a couple of months ago. That game is a time sink personified. If I had made it into the World of Warcraft open beta I probably would have spent a lot of time in it too :P.

Wow, I'm surprised not many people listed One Piece as a favorite O_O! I'm reluctant to say anything is my alltime favorite (except for One Piece and The 12 Kingdoms) but here are my currently top-ranked:

- One Piece (unbelievably addictive story)
- The 12 Kingdoms (great epic fantasy story.. I wish they'd translate the books -_-)
- Tokyo Godfathers (I was fortunate enough to catch it on a movie channel - nicely interconnected storyline)
- Kaleido Star (breathtaking constumes!)
- Spirited Away (Miyazaki's other anime movies are great too)

I prefer the manga, hands down. Although, if I've seen the anime first I usually don't want to read the manga afterwards since I feel it'd be the same thing (which isn't always true). If I really love the series I will watch the anime as well as read the manga.

The manga version definitely has more attention to detail and isn't necessarily repetitive -- like the Sailormoon anime as opposed to the manga. The manga is also the original vision of the author herself.. the animators usually do change or omit parts which perverts the original storyline. Why see the distorted vision when you can get the original :)?
